Fleet of Oceans

The Fleet Of Oceans (Full Name The Fleet Upon The Oceans Of Magna Britannia) This a Nation upon the planet of Telrova and is one of the largest nations upon the planet. The nation is a Regency Ruled by the First Sea Lord and Until very recently the nation was considered one of the Great Powers of the planet with its aerial armada, vast military industrial complex, astral fleet and off world holdings.

Early History 1897-1907

The nation known as The Fleet Of Oceans was created out of the fall of the Magna Britannian Empire, the navy of which The Fleet Of Oceans still is technically to the present day. This event known simply within The Fleet Of Oceans as The Invasion Of 1897 saw the arrival of an alien race bent on conquest upon the continent of Ost-Gershaft, presumably because of it's relative isolation from the rest of Telrova and the ease of defending it once the Britannian Empire was vanquished. The nation was indeed vanquished seemingly within a week, an entire continent being ravaged to a near apocalyptic degree the only thing of any substance being left being the Imperial navy which fled shepherding what civilians, supplies and raw material could be saved from the Invaders rampaging Tripod Fighting Machines. This fleet of refugees began it's year long circumnavigation of the globe gathering what supplies it could and what support was offered though very little was forthcoming.

The Fleet Upon The Oceans (as it had called itself during this period) resolved to return to their homeland and attempt to fight the invaders off from the continent that had once been their home. When they returned however they found the invaders war machines either vanished, in ruins or abandoned virtually intact. Corpses discovered revealed the invaders had succumbed to a cocktail of viruses and Bacteria to which they had no defence (it being later discovered during the Fleetian Retribution expedition to Eurypa that the Invaders had gradually eliminated such bacteria from their planet). What was waiting for the Fleetian's however was a continent in shambles and as the Fleet Of Oceans went about the early process of reconquest they ran into some basic polities but nothing overly complex or threatening. With the materials, experienced personal, raw reserves of manpower and a will to succeed the Nascent Fleet Of Oceans went around rapidly expanding their holdings around the old (and relatively intact) fleet anchorage of Flowing Scarsdale. This Fleet anchorage and the port city of the same name that surrounded it was renamed New Britannia and became the capital of the Fleet Of Oceans in 1907 a position it still holds to this day.

These early years where filled with no small amount of fighting and conflict but nothing that could truly be described as a full scale war in the traditional sense, just the fleet of oceans integrating (either by diplomatic means or by good old fashioned annexation) the various communities of survivors that had begun to reassert themselves in the aftermath of the Invaders death. This however changed in 1905 when the Fleet Of Oceans having consolidated it's hold over the vast southern island chains of Ost-Gershaft and using the first of it's mature Gravitic Skyships make a landing upon the continent proper and was met by an organised force flying the flag of a nation that had been considered long extinct and conquered by the Britannian empire centuries ago.
