The Battle of Habentia (Germ: Hebentierschlacht) was a battle during the First Great War between the navies of the Kingdom of Rhodevus (Rhodeve Navy) and the Englean Kaiserreich (Kaiserliche-Marine). The battle followed the months-long search by the Rhodeve Navy for the SMS Götterdämmerung, the Englean superbattleship that had been engaging Allied fleets passing near Corentia. The previous battle had seen the SMS Götterdämmerung crippling a Rhodeve fleet comprised of 9 vessels, with 2 being destroyed by the battleship and 2 more by her escorting cruisers (see: The Hunt for the Götterdämmerung). The Rhodeve objective was to destroy the vessel, while the Englean objective was to prevent an Allied entrance into the Southern Lutentian Ocean and naval dominance around Corentia. During the battle, the most well-known action was by the Rhodeve destroyer (HMV Reliant) for its ramming of the Götterdämmerung. Following the battle, the Götterdämmerung was critically damaged and forced to remain in drydock for the rest of the war for repairs. This battle is considered an Englean strategic victory, for it allowed the Kaiserliche-Marine to retain the South Lutentian, but a Rhodeve pyrrhic tactical victory for the battle's crippling of the Götterdämmerung and taking it out of the war.
