The Republic of Sierra Plata, more commonly known just as Sierra Plata or Sierra, is the sovereign federation of twenty-five provinces located strategically in Northern Rennekka, on the brink of the Columbian Sea and the channel between Rennekka and Vestrim. The country is bordered to it's south with the country of Panjero, and to it's north with the nation of Eshuani. The government is quartered in the capital city of Salcada, boasting a parliamentary republic in the Salcadan style. Although many government offices are located in Salcada, the nation's largest city is Trevelo, an ancient indigenous city located on the approach to the southern country. The country holds a population of 42,000,000 within its territory in Rennekka.
Historically, the Republic of Sierra Plata was colonized and conquered by Veleazan Puritans as well as a small contingent of Wradhians after the Conquistidator Jayme Herrero opened the gates to Northern Rennekka during the period around 1510 CE, establishing the Viceroyalty of New Veleaz of all Northern Rennekkan countries. The years following the collapse of the Viceroyalty and the independence of most Veleazan colonies saw the rise of the Sierran Provisional Constitution, creating a the same standard that was applied after the Military Junta was replaced. Although the new Republic did not last long with competing powers in Antonia and Panjero creating the Confederation of Norte Costa in 1834 CE, which had unified the north for a decade until it's inevitable collapse in 1888 CE. After this period, the Republic in Exile returned and reformed the government until economic strife struck the nation around the early 1900s, leading to the rise of Socialism which brought fiercer resistance from the dying right. This would boil over in the Black Weeks, a period which saw the two sides clash and forced the military under Ferddi Colonel Lloyd Sutton to intervene and establish a military junta that lasted until [PLACEHOLDER].
Culturally, the Republic has [tba]. Economically the Republic [tba]
