Violette Evergreen (19 November 1987) is a New Akibander politician who is currently the 39th Prime Minister of New Akiba. She is the youngest to hold office at the age of 30, the third female to hold office, and the first non-Nihhonese to hold power in over a decade.
Evergreen was born in Christchurch. However, at a young age, she lost her parents and was taken care by her foster mother, Herietta Evergreen. She grew up to be a very bright child. She finished her studies at the University of Canterbury in 2008 under the Bachelor of Economic Sciences. She also finished her JORC training during her time in the university. She became an economist and was the personal adviser to the Minister of Commerce until 2010.
She entered the New Akiba Parliament during the 2014 general elections and was elected the Canterbury representative of the Christchurch electorate. Her reason for entering politics is that she is an admirer of then-Prime Minister Tsujimura Seiji, whom she considered to be New Akiba's best Prime Minister in over a decade. She was unanimously elected as Deputy Leader of the Labour Party on 12 January 2015, following the resignation of Nene Aizawa. She later became the Leader of the Labour Party after the resignation of Erich Richardson due to low popularity polls. She became popular among her party members and is credited with increasing the favour of the public with the Labour Party.
During the 2017 elections, Seiji announced his resignation as he desired to serve in a lower office and give the position to a younger individual. His term ended before the official elections took place, succeeding him was MP Kanji Minase. In the 2017 general elections, the Labour Party won 47 seats while the National Party won 55 seats. After negotiations with National and Labour, the New Akiba First party chose to enter into a minority coalition government with Labour, supported by the Greens, with Evergreen as Prime Minister. She granted Seiji's request when she appointed him as the Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs in her cabinet.
In her first month, she led the nation during the Oceanian Crisis, in which Ingelmia declared war and became a spillover of the Imperial Crisis. The Bellhals Free State was invaded by Ingelmia. In accordance with the ZANUK Security Treaty, Zanarkand aided New Akiba during the crisis and prevented the presence of any Ingelmian entering into the New Akiba Airspace or Land. Almost 60% of the population in the North Island was evacuated to the south. The following year saw a stalemate, allowing peoples in the North Island to return home but remaining vigilant. Raid Systems were installed in cities in the North Island in the event of an Ingelmian attack. The Crisis ended in 2020, when Ingelmia declared a ceasefire and the Bellhals Free State remaining neutral.
Evergreen focused on improving Seiji's policies, such as the Jobs & Livelihood Bill and the Renewable Energy Bill. She placed emphasis in strengthening the rights of Workers' and the Position of Women in the working class. In addition to the previous corporate companies publicized during Seiji's term, She fully publicized the New Akiba Railway Company, the New Akiba Electric Company, Shimatsu Energy Company, Tenare Power Corporation, Gastonway Heavy Machineries, and other companies. The result was that electricity costs went down by 15.6% (an increase of 6%), Manufacturing Costs went down by 11%, the cost of the construction of housings drastically reduced, and improving the transportation system. It further reduced the cost of living in New Akiba.
In 2018, She introduced the Kasahara Bill, which granted the full and equal rights to the indigenous people of New Akiba, the Maoru. The bill not only included the Maoru, but also included all peoples residing in New Akiba, regardless of skin colour or ethnicity.
For her global outreach, leadership skills, and the fact that New Akiba's global ratings of approval and importance are significantly improving under her premiership, Evergreen has been widely described the most powerful woman in the Southern Hemisphere and one of the most powerful women in the world.
