Ngāti Onekawa-Nukanoa is a large, Absolute Federal Monarchy located at the far eastern edge of Malaio with the Karaihe Sea to its north and the Vespanion and Makrian Oceans to its south and east. As a Absolute Federal Monarchy Ngāti Onekawa-Nukanoa is composed of a number of six smaller states known as Iwi in which Ngāti Onekawa-Nukanoa is the overall nation. Formed from the Treaty of Takutaiwhero (1896) following several wars between the major iwi of the time and colonial conflicts against Arthurista. Following the Treaty the first Maori Kingi of this new state was Peeti I Onekawa, namesake of the city Peeti-makau-rau

Ngāti Onekawa-Nukanoa ranks as one of the most developed states in Malaio, boasting not only strong economic performance but also ranks itself highly in regards to several factors including education, healthcare and its economic freedoms. Alongside this modernity is a keen awareness f the value of its environment and the role of people as guardians of this resource and as a result has developed extensive environmental impact legislation and conservation policies.

Ngāti Onekawa-Nukanoa notably is a founding member of the Association of Malaio Ozeros Nation and has enthusiastically been involved with several of the organisations most significant initiatives. Most notably in the form of the Trans-Malaio Rail system developed in the 90s that now connects all member nations in the form of high speed passenger rail.
