Since a constitutional amendment was enacted in 2019, Brilliania has by-elections for vacant seats to the National Assembly.

A constitutionally required by-election was held on 15 February 2020 to fill 26 vacancies to the National Assembly of Brilliania, following the reaching of the 20-seat limit for by-elections. The election was based on digital voting, with mandatory voting not being in effect.
