Äike 7.62 (English: Thunder 7.62) is a battle rifle designed by Rvandonian small arms designer Mark Uiba and manufactured by Mythology Industries.

It is chambered for the 7.62x46 mm Rvandonian cartridge.

History

In the spring of 2015, Mythology Industries announced their development of a new battle rifle. It was an experimental weapon in early stages of development at the time.

The first prototypes of Äike 7.62 were shown at the Lindamäe Military Expo in 2017 and was subject to overwhelming support from critics, military contractors and gun enthusiasts alike.

Design

Äike 7.62 is a delayed blowback, closed bolt battle rifle. It is constructed to be extremely modular. Äike uses an articulated mechanism, which allows the bolt and an inertia block to move downward into a recess behind the magazine well. The theory is that at the end of this travel, the energy is transmitted downward rather than rearward, thus reducing the felt recoil. The weapon fires 860 RPM.

Variants

An Äike 7.62 variant for special operations use with a suppressor, 4x ACOG, tactical light, laser and vertical grip.

The Äike 7.62 SOPMOD (Special OPerations MODification) is only available for military and law enforcement use. It features an adjustable stock and a factory integrated fire selector.
