The House Canillac is a political dynasty with lands around Whitebay in Brytene. The family holds a variety of shipping and trade portfolios, and have a large stake in the Hlaford Shipyards. Unusually for a Brytisc noble house, they are Catholic.

History

The Canillac dynasty was begun by Rollo of Canillac, a minor warrior in the service of the Kings of Brytene who led forces for the King during the Hundred Years' War. As a reward for his achievements, he was granted rights to title and certain lands in the newly-conquered territories of Parovea. Over the next hundred years, the family of Canillac established themselves, using their unique position to develop merchant shipping and naval concerns, whilst assisting the royal forces of Brytene in their struggle against the Empire of Castarcia.

Canillac troops were present at the Battle of Highgarden, and it was not until 1345 and the Siege of the Chateau de Canillac that the House Canillac lost their holdings in Parovea. Since then, they have mostly focused on Whitebay, though they were also major backers behind the drive to develop and settle Pepper Atoll.

Properties and net worth

The seat of the House is Chateau Canillac, constructed in the 16th Century. Canillac is a well-known name throughout Susseax and the family holds a variety of interests centered around international shipping, trade, and dockyard industries, including a 24% stake in the valuable Hlaford Shipyards. They also own the SpearCorp Solutions Private Military Company, which provides security for the family and their holdings.

Members

Living members of the house include Sir Arthur Canillac the Lord Canillac, Estelle Canillac his wife, Celeste Canillac their daughter, Gerard Canillac their son and heir, and Reyard Canillac, Head of Marketing at Wernham-Hogg and son of Hercule.

Past members of the house include the elder brother of Arthur, Hercule Canillac (b.1960-d.1984), and Rollo de Canillac, founder of the house (circa 1200AD).
