The Parliament and Legislature for Toubaze is the National Assembly based in the capital Taubon. The National Assembly is presided over by the Speaker of the National Assembly, currently Nil Rekal from the Moderates.
Elections to the National Assembly work by proportional representation and the percentage for how many votes a party gets, is matched as closely as possible. To get into the National Assembly, a party needs at least 3% of the vote, which gives 10 seats. Individuals can get a seat in the National Assembly by receiving 0.5% of the vote. however this has only happened twice. Each region opens for elections and each region starts counting their votes once the time is over. They send in the votes once the entire region is counted. The voter turnout for the 2016 election was 83,9% of eligible voters.

=== Prime Minister ===
The prime minister of Toubaze is the head of government and presides over a cabinet that is elected by the people and formally approved by the monarch. In practice, the appointment of the prime minister is determined by his or her support in the National Assembly and the monarch remains apolitical. Since 1991, no single party has held a majority in the National Assembly, so the prime minister must form a coalition of parties to secure a parliamentary majority, otherwise they won't be able to govern. This is because Toubaze follows the basis of negative parliamentarianism, that any party can form a government as long as it isn't opposed by a majority.

=== Government ===
The current prime minister of Toubaze is Kelco Noim, since 23 December 2016. The current administration is led by the Democratic Party with parliamentary support from the Toubaze Socialist Party, Moderates and Green Alliance.
