A rjon′ (輦, rjon′) is a human-pulled, one-axle vehicle not dissimilar to a chariot, primarily used to transport dignitaries over short distances. In early Themiclesian history, only the ruler or a similar figure could use a rjon′ in public, since the source of adhesion is humankind. In some texts, this practice is criticized as dehumanizing, as most vehicles were drawn by draft animals. For longer distances, horse- or ox-drawn vehicles were used almost universally.
