The Tagmata (Anglish: "Regiments", singular "Tagma") is one of the many specialist units within the Imperial Army of Tagmatium. It is also known as the Imperial Guard, Palace Regiments or Palace Guard and acts as the guard units of the Holy Imperial Government. These are six units that guard high-ranking officials and members of the government, honour guard duties, undertake security duties for government buildings, parades, guard mounting and accompany delegations abroad. Each unit has its own history and traditions. They are also combat troops and have been deployed to areas of conflict in the recent past, including the Cussian Crisis, where a detachment from the XXX acted as observers.
The military police, the Vigla, and the border guard, the Vestiaritai, are considered to be part of the Tagmata.

Duties
Organisation
The Tagmata is consists of six named regiments, or Tagma, each of which has its own unique parade uniform and equipment. However, as they are also still considered combat units, they are also trained for roles within the modern organisation of the Imperial Army.
- Exkoubitoi – Double-handed sword, red robes, black armour. (Fight as Skoutatoi)
- Ikanatoi – Spears, cream robes, red armour. (Fight as Koursores)
- Athanatoi – Axes and bows, green robes, blue armour. (Fight as Hippofraktoi)
- Paramonai – Iron maces, bows, blue robes, steel armour polished to a mirror shine. (Fight as Katafraktoi)
- Arkhontogennhematai – Spears, black robes, steel armour armour. (Fight as Hippofraktoi)
- Optimatoi – Swords, red robes, cream armour. (Fight as Skoutatoi)
