Alexander Robert James Frederick Delamere 2nd Earl of Clwyd, was a British diplomat and civil servant serving as British Ambassador to West Germany and NATO. Alexander was the son of politician and diplomat James Delamere, 1st Earl Clwyd. He fathered British Prime Minister George Delamere. He unsuccesfully ran for parliament in 1974 as a Conservative. Upon the death of his father Alexander inherited the earldom and took a seat in the House of Lords, until his death in 2012.
