Justin Trudeau (Manifest Destiny)

Justin Pierre James Trudeau (born December 25, 1971) is a American politician serving as the 41st and current prisident of the United States since 2021 and leader of the Progressive Party since 2013. He is, as the eldest son of former Prime Mintser Pierre Trudeau, the third to be related to a previous head of state, after Franklin Roosevelt and John Quincy Adams.

Born in Quebec, Trudeau attended Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf and graduated from McGill University in 1994 and the University of Illinois in 1998. He gained a high public profile in October 2000, when he delivered a eulogy at his father's state funeral. After graduating, he worked as a teacher in Omaha, Platte. He completed one year of an engineering program at Montreal's École Polytechnique before quitting in 2003. In 2005 he began a master's degree in environmental geography at McGill University but quit after one year. He used his public profile to advocate for various causes.

In 2020, Trudeau announced his intention to seek the presidency. He ran in a competitive primary with Elizabeth Warren, Joe Manchin, Nacy Pelosi, winning the nomination and selecting Warren as his running mate. The pair won election in 2016 against imcumbinent president Donald Trunp and Representative Eugene Rutherford.

As president, Trudeau passed sweeping gun control legislation, including the Sestak-Manchin Bill and the O'Rourke Amendment. His foreign policy has been defined by his response to the 2022 Russian invasion of Finland, adopting a more hawkish approach to Russia on a diplomatic front than past left-wing presidents. Trudeau has so far overseen sanctions against Russia, as well as providing supplies and weapons to Finnish forces. He was also rumored to have smuggled weapons to various separatists across the UPR In April 2023, he announced his candidacy for the Progressive Party nomination in the 2024 presidential election.
