Kyledus Idealis, more commonly known as Kyleth or sometimes Kyli, is a sapient species native to northern Pelia, more specifically, almost exclusively to Kyldegard. Kyleth are bipedal cetaceans with many human-like features, with the notable exception of their bodily hair, or rather lack thereof. It is the only extant species in the genus Kyledus, as well as its only historical species. Idealis is significant for being the world's most complex genetically modified organism, with its roots being traced back to Kethesite around 150-200 AR. A partially amphibious species, Kyledus Idealis are found mostly on land but will often spend large sums of time underwater.
Genetic Traits
Coloration
Due to being an ethnically diverse species, Kyleth have many different colorations, most of which reside in different parts of the country. Most Kyleth are a shade of black, white, or grey, with some variations of the species being pink or blue in skin tone.
Size
Most subspecies/ethnicities of Kyledus Idealis are between 50 to 66 inches in height, from their feet to their head, and slightly shorter when measured from head to tail (a waning traditional Kyldegardian method of measurement). The Kyleth head is comparable in proportion to that of the average human head, with the Kyleth head being about two centimeters longer at the back of the skull, and with Kyleth jaws being more effeminate and round than the average human jaw.
The Kyledus Idealis perampla subspecies, however, is considerably larger than its fellow 60-inch counterparts, standing at an average of 4.73 miles (7.6 km). It is often debated whether Idealis perampla should count as its own subspecies due to its nature as a magical experimental accident, however it can be noted that perampla, often commonly known as Kitans or natively Eof, exhibits radically different social, behavioral and mental
