Aztatl Association is a Zacapine aircraft and aircraft components manufacturing firm headquartered and operating primarily in Tecolotlan, Zacaco Republic. It was first established in the early 20th century to manufacture biplanes for utility purposes, developing into an aerospace and defense corporation in the following decades before its military division was nationalized into the Zacapine Military Aerospace Conglomerate. Aztatl now operates as the premier civilian aircraft manufacturer of Zacapican mainly servicing the domestic demand for utility aircraft and equiping the national airlines. The company retains close ties with its former military division, frequently cooperating with military designers to adapt Aztatl aircraft designs to military service and vice versa. Aztatl is an example of an Industral Calpolli Association, a confederation of autonomous factory wards across Tecolotlan and the surrounding areas, together forming the production chains for the many advanced components needed for the aircraft manufacturing process.

The bulk of the manufacturing for Aztatl aircraft takes place in Tecolotlan or in outlying cities in the region. It was initially situated there by chance but later would grow into a more sophisticated operation thanks to the city's industrialization as a major ship building center. Some of the calpolli factories that were established to supply the shipyards demands for more specialized and advanced components drew the advanced industries to the city. The Aztatl Association was able to capitalize on this, entering into joint contracts with the naval industries early on for aircraft to be used in conjunction with the navy ships. However, military naval aviation would not become prevalent until after the military component of Aztatl would be nationalized. Nevertheless, Aztatl's capitalization on the industrial expansion of Tecolotlan in the mid 20th century allowed the company to massive expand across dozens of newly founded calpolli around the city needed to manufacture not only a greater volume of materials and units demanded by the growing aviation industries in Zacapican, but also to keep up with the increasingly complex manufacturing processes for large airliners and jet engines.

The golden age of Aztatl ended in the late 1980s as the releases of new model aircraft has frozen for nearly three decades, while the company today is primarily engaged in the continued maintenance of its existing designs which are widely used by Zacapine airlines. The main new designs being produced by the company today are a product of its subsidiary offshoot Citlamatapalli Aviation specialized in light aircraft for leisure, agriculture, pilot training and search and rescue. Aztatl Association has recently announced its "airliner of the future" project, designated Aztatl Az-101 Huetotolotl, in the hopes that the success of a new airliner design that could be exported would revive innovation in the aircraft industry and breathe new life into the calpolli company.

Thanks to its swept wing design, it was capable of reaching comprable speeds to those of contemporary jet airliners and held the title of the fastest turboporp airliner in the world. However, its increased pricetag compared to the mainstay Az-20 proved a significant handicap in the design's appeal and it was never widely exported. It first flew in 1969.
