Santa Borbones, is a city in central Pecario, south of the Cordillera del Sol. It is the capital of the Chacaltaya District. The city is the second most populous in Pecario; in 2019, it had a population of 3,895,620. The city was the capital of the Tuachec Empire from the 13th century until the 16th-century Iberic conquest.
Pecario's capital was originally built around 1335, under the name Tualcacán. It was almost completely destroyed in the 1633 siege of Tualcacán and subsequently redesigned and rebuilt in accordance with the Iberic urban standards. In 1640, the municipality of Santa Borbones was established.
