Zolodolina (Seredyan: Золодолина, tr. Zolodolina), also referred to as Zola, is the capital and second most populous city of the Seredinian Federation with 10.9 million residents within the city's boundaries, 15 million within its urban region, and 18.5 million within its metropolitan area. It is currently the only Federal City in Seredinia, though the cities of Belogorodka, Galkino-Vraskoye, and Tambov are set to be re-designated as such by 2024.
Zolodolina is the political, cultural, and social hub of the Seredinian Federation, having been the epicenter of its nascent civilization prior to the founding of the Principality of Zolodolina which would eventually morph into the Grand State of Seredya. It is situated within the Golden Valley, from which it takes its name, and is split by the Svir river. It is the largest city at or above its latitude in the world, and one of the coldest. It has been classified as the nation's only Federal City since 1954, and has expanded out of its traditional Valley boundaries to include much of the surrounding former-countryside since the late 19th-century.
