==Re: [[Conviction]] and plagiarism; and manual template imports==
Hello,
It has been brought to the attention of the IIWiki admin team that you created the article [[Conviction]] some time ago using content lifted from the corresponding Wikipedia article. I have deleted this page for reasons that should be or become clear. It seems to me you were unaware of site policy on plagiarism, or regarded that this did not constitute plagiarism. It does, but I will not be making any strike against your account. I would like instead to explain site policy in this matter and explain the preferred approach in this case.
IIWiki does not need to explain real-world concepts that are adequately covered by Wikipedia. It is not necessary to link to an article ''on IIWiki'' that explains a fairly universal concept like "conviction", or "supply-side economics", or "continental drift". Nevertheless, you may wish to link to such articles for your reader's sake or just to further the illusion that IIWiki is an "in-character Wikipedia." This is understandable. In such cases, all that needs to be inserted is an in-line link to the appropriate Wikipedia article. There are two main ways to format this.
One is using [[:Template:Wp]] (e.g. as <nowiki>{{wp|conviction}}</nowiki>; it can display different text much as a standard link can, e.g. <nowiki>{{wp|conviction|found guilty}}</nowiki> which displays as {{wp|conviction|found guilty}}). The other is inserting wikipedia: before the target in the link (e.g. as <nowiki>[[wikipedia:conviction]]</nowiki>). Because this latter one displays with the wikipedia: prefix, I recommend changing the display text as usual. You can also link to other Wikimedia projects this way, such as [[wiktionary:for example]]. [[Special:WhatLinksHere/Conviction|Any pages that previously linked]] to [[Conviction]] will need to be retargeted to the Wikipedia article as explained above.
I would also like to note that IIWiki policy is against manual imports of templates, i.e. the copy-pasting of template content from Wikipedia into a corresponding page on IIWiki, by non-admin users. This is because it has caused problems in the past with improper imports, which disrupt the chronological sequence and make it harder to resolve broken template issues which are much more likely to arise when users import incompletely. I note that you had manually imported [[:Template:If between]]. I have deleted and reimported this template through the Import tool to avoid any issues down the line. In future, please request all imports through an administrator's talk page or through the IIWiki Discord server.
Thank you for your understanding. If you have any queries please get in touch with me. [[User:Maltropia|~ Mal]] <small>[[User talk:Maltropia|do the talking thing]]</small> 23:26, 27 November 2020 (UTC)

Re: Import request

The requested template has been imported. Weird choice, but who am I to judge. ~ Mal do the talking thing 03:25, 5 April 2019 (UTC)

Fixed a link

Hey Zacha96, I wanted to let you know I made a minor edit to Template:Arabin labeled map. I think you used one of my templates as reference but forgot to remove the [[Category:Gylias templates]] from it... I was wondering why on earth did that show up in my category... Follow-up

Hey, don't panic! There's nothing to apologise for, don't worry about it. I thought it was obvious from my message that I was amused by it. I used somebody else's template as reference for my own as well, lol. It's all good :)

I'm actually honoured you used mine as reference :) Gylias (talk) 06:55, 3 November 2019 (UTC)

Re: Conviction and plagiarism; and manual template imports

Hello,

It has been brought to the attention of the IIWiki admin team that you created the article Conviction some time ago using content lifted from the corresponding Wikipedia article.

It is not necessary to link to an article on IIWiki that explains a fairly universal concept like "conviction", or "supply-side economics", or "continental drift".

One is using Template:Wp (e.g. as {{wp|conviction}}; it can display different text much as a standard link can, e.g. {{wp|conviction|found guilty}} which displays as found guilty). The other is inserting wikipedia: before the target in the link (e.g. as [[wikipedia:conviction]]). Because this latter one displays with the wikipedia: prefix, I recommend changing the display text as usual. You can also link to other Wikimedia projects this way, such as wiktionary:for example. Any pages that previously linked to Conviction will need to be retargeted to the Wikipedia article as explained above.

I note that you had manually imported Template:If between. I have deleted and reimported this template through the Import tool to avoid any issues down the line. In future, please request all imports through an administrator's talk page or through the IIWiki Discord server.
