The Royal Court includes government and military officials, royal waiting staff and officers, and individuals invited by the monarch such as clerics, craftsmen, scientists, musicians, poets, or artists; members particularly close the the monarch may be part of the Privy Council. In this way, the Royal Court fulfills both polticial, symbolic, and practical function.
