===Technical changes===

The 2021 AstyF1 technical regulations have brought out the largest overhaul in decades. The cars are now allowed to employ venturi tunnels for the first time since the 1982 season, allowing teams to take advantage of the underbody to produce grip. These ground effect cars were reintroduced to lessen their dependence on overbody aerodynamics and reduce turbulent air behind the cars, while also maintaining similar downforce figures compared to previous years. In addition, bargeboards were eliminated from the regulations to further reduce aerodynamic wake, with a wheel arch above the front wheels serving that purpose. The front wing and endplates have been simplified and must directly connect to the nosecone, disallowing airflow from going under the nose to influence the rest of the aerodynamics further behind.

===Opening rounds===

The first race of the season began in earnest at the Aswickan Grand Prix. Phaeton driver Pekka Koivu claimed pole position, with MacGregor's Conway Prescott coming in 2nd and LZS's Ivan Jovanović in 3rd. Koivu continued to maintain his lead for 33 laps until Steven Grey passed him. But the Valkean driver retook the lead 11 laps later, claiming the victory, with Grey behind him in 2nd place. This victory ended Prescott's 4-year winning streak at the Aswickan Grand Prix. Angelbridge driver Decius Whitewall had to retire on the last lap of the race due to gearbox trouble. In her debut race, Blake won 3rd place, earning her first podium.

At the Mizian Grand Prix, Grey and Prescott locked out the front row in qualifying for MacGregor. However, they failed to capitalize on their advantage on race day due to poor strategy and quicker-than-usual tire wear. This allowed for DiParadisa and Koivu to catch up, clinching a 1-2 finish for Phaeton. Grey claimed 3rd place for MacGregor, but Prescott was caught out due to a delay in his pit stop, which led him to end the race behind the Siduses of Lauren Blake and Guy Bassett.

At the Azmir Grand Prix, Robert van Grol and Steven Grey collided on the 4th lap, which forced the latter to pit. However he was forced to retire after it was discovered that his rear left wheel wasn't fastened properly. Matthew Martins was out of the race soon after due to an engine failure. Stefan Lakowski led for most of the race until the round of pits stops on Lap 27, where he lost the lead to Koivu, who had opted for a two-stop strategy and stayed out. Dominic Hudnall, who had held 3rd place for much of the race, suffered a gearbox failure on Lap 39, while Gianpiero Santoro was able to climb from 17th to 6th throughout the race. Koivu took the victory, with Lakowski and Jovanović in 2nd and 3rd, respectively.

2021's Astyrian Grand Prix was held at the Autocircus Civilis in Caranthaea, Blackhelm Confederacy. This track's high speeds suited the Phaetons well, resulting in a front-row lockout for the Confederate-based team. At the race, Blake attempted to pass Koivu on Lap 22 and collided with him, sending the latter off the track. The red flag was brought out on Lap 31 when Nick Hardy's Delaney locked up and crashed into the barriers. At the restart, DiParadisa was able to build a substantial lead and win, while Jovanović and Grey clinched 2nd and 3rd after a lengthy battle.
