The Order of Ardouin is the highest Fratanican order of merit, awarded to those who have made significant contributions to Fratanican culture, society, or history. Formerly an order awarded by the Ardouinian Christian Church, successive presidents and legislatures of Fratanica have opted to continue this order.
History
The history of this order can be traced back all the way to 1788, under the Sovereign Kingdom of Boulon. Francis Ardouin had been responsible for a new reformist Christian church, with his ideas gaining popularity in the late 15th and early 16th centuries. Ardouinian Christianity became the official religion of the Sovereign Kingdom of Boulon in 1707, under King John I of Amron.
In order to both please his key supporters and to strengthen his dynasty, King John I of Amron set up an order of chivalry known as the Order of Ardouin.
