O Rwizikuru, land of glory is the national anthem of Rwizikuru, used from 1946 to 1957, and since 1964. The lyrics were written by Zvionere Marachera and Alistair Perry in the transition period between Estmerish rule over Riziland to an independent Rwizikuru, while the melody was composed by Horatio Edmiston around 1920.
First adopted in 1946 upon Rwizikuru's independence, O Rwizikuru, land of glory was used until 1957, when it was replaced by Lève-toi, ô Baïen!, as a sign of Vudzijena Nhema's committment to Pan-Bahianism. It was in turn re-adopted after the 1964 coup d'etat that saw the National Salvation Council take power over Rwizikuru, and has remained as the anthem of Rwizikuru since then, despite the institution of the Rwizikuran monarchy in 1968.
