The Codex Plantarius is a publication which was commissioned by the Aguda Empire Office for Agriculture, documenting species (primarily plant, insect, fungal and bacterial), the methods of their cultivation, and their economic usefulness. It was commissioned in the reign of Ziujebano, but only first published after her death, in 1543. It was updated and widely disseminated throughout the Aguda Empire and beyond, being an important reference document and tool in the dissemination and propagation of agricultural species and techniques.
Name
The text became known as the Codex Plantarius (Classical Solarian for "vegetable book" or "book of plants") to Eucleans who encountered its first edition and found it to be a work of scientific note. This name remains the commonly used name for the publication in Estmerish, but the name under which it was published in Ziba was deze denhi demhe, translatable roughly as "book of all crops". Contemporarily, it is referred to in Ziba as the Aguda deze denhi demhe.
