It was not until 1942 when she agreed on an offer to make her a part of a special operations unit as a medic that she was forced to temporarily halt her studies. She later became a member of Torch Company under the Special Air Service as a medical personnel. However, she was often granted leave in order to focus on her studies, to which she was able to graduate just 2 months after the war ended.
Marina married her fellow company member, Henry Voss and had 3 children together. Marina is the great-grandmother of Rebecca Voss, a personnel of the ILESOC.
