Alaina Catherine Deutsch, the second wife of Bartholomew Pierce, was born on February 19, 1970, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to librarian Vivan (née Whittle; born 1948) and attorney Theodore P. Deutsch (born 1946). She was raised in a Reform Jewish household with one older brother, Levi (born 1969); younger sister, Evelyn (born 1973), younger brother Simon (born 1976), younger sister Aliza (born 1979) and younger brother Ezekiel (born 1981). Although born in Cedar Rapids, the family moved to Theodore's native Brooklyn when Alaina was three in 1973. There she went to an all-girls Jewish school and went on to study medicine at USC Medical School, graduating in 1996. She started her residency in Miami in 1996, where she met Bartholomew Pierce. They married in 1997 and had three children: Toño, Kyle and Claire. She also became the stepmother to Pierce's three elder children: Alonso, Claudia and Immanuel. The coupled divorced in 2008 amid allegations of infidelity on the part of Pierce.

Alonso Diaz Pierce, born December 23, 1990, is the first child and son of Bartholomew Pierce and his first wife, Stephanie Pierce. He was born in Manhattan, New York City. Although his family's primary residence is in Miami-Dade County, Florida, they maintain residences in New York City and British Columbia and his parents decided to have him born in Manhattan. Pierce is both a citizen of the United States and of Canada.
He would later graduate from Princeton University with an MBA and become chief financial officer (CFO) of Ryder, a company based in Miami. Pierce married U.S. Army Reserve captain and Miss USA 2016 winner Deshauna Barber. They have a daughter, Tiana Barber Pierce,[a] born in 2018.

Unlike her elder brother, she was born in Miami. She is a citizenship of both Canada and the United States through her father who also holds Canadian citizenship. Pierce attended Miami Senior High School and graduated in 2011. Following her mother's career path, she attended the University of British Columbia and studied pediatric psychology. She earned her doctor of psychology degree in 2018 and started practicing as a psychologist in 2020. She works at a private practice in the Miami-Dade area and has been married to Saša Petrov (Russian: Саша Петров) since 2022.
