Wesge Airport (Vyvlander: Wesge Eeraagen /'weːʒə/ or /'wezgə/ /'eːɾäːgən/, also known as Vlud Wesge or Wesge Vlud) is an international airport situated on the outskirts of the town of Wesge, mid-way between the cities of Vlud and Mafiy in Vyvland. It is Vyvland's busiest airport, with over twenty million passengers passing through the airport in 2012. It is comprised of two runways and three terminals.
The airport originated as an airfield during the Vyvlander Civil War in 1933. After the war, with Vlud's Haflig Airfield badly damaged by bombing, Wesge became the main airport for the city. Despite its distance from Vlud, Wesge has maintained this status ever since, having been the busiest airport in Vyvland since 1947. The airport's growth in comparison to others is partly because of easier construction in the area due to its sparser population than suburban areas closer to Vlud. In 1986, Wesge's second runway was built, although little development has happened since then due to stricter environmental regulations.
Although the airport is well connected to Vyvland's road network, roughly two-fifths of journeys to and from the airport are taken by train, especially for those journeying from or to Vlud and Mafiy or to other major Vyvlander cities. International flights from the airport are more commonplace than domestic flights, and the airport serves 133 international destinations in comparison to 16 domestic destinations. The airport's most popular foreign destinations are Bondhaven Slochterdam and Namo International, while for domestic flights, Stanmer-Lyksdal, Wel and Olsence airports are the most common.
