The Langlois family settled in Santerre, Autelia, shortly after Marcelle's birth. She was educated privately by tutors at home, and then attended a finishing school in Switzerland.

Marriage and children

Marcelle first became acquainted with Prince Louis, the youngest son of King Charles and Queen Marie-Amélie of Autelia, at a royal gala thrown in honour of members of the diplomatic corps and their families.

Marcelle and Louis were married on 19 December 1946 at the Cathédral de Saint-Seigneur de Santerre.
