Regimental history and tradition

Aerial combat developed in the early 20th Century, and Brytene's first military aircraft were biplanes used for reconnaisance. The Company of Royal Aviators was formed in 1910 to take advantage of this new technology, consisting initially of twenty-two men and six planes.

By the mid 1920s, Fleet Command had begun to appreciate the true value of airplanes in warfare and their potential applications and began working on the possibility of carrier-launched aircraft.

By 1932 the first viable carrier had been developed and the new Naval Air Brigade was formed. Today, the Brigade has expanded to contain all-fixed wing aviators of the Confederate Brytisc Fleet.
