The Motykov class is, the main aircraft carrier of the Anikatian Navy Forces. It was conceived and designed in the 1960s as a replacement for the single Grokantyia light carrier which was the flagship of the newly independent Anikatian state. This was the nations first attempt at building a aircraft carrier, while consisted a small carrier by international standards. It did not follow the traditional standards instead follows a mixed cruiser carrier design. Following the collapse of the socialist regime this carrier design has been successfully exported through the Anikatian International Trade and Export Corporation (ANKITEC). Within Pardes, following improving relations between Belhavia and Anikatia in 2010 following Niklas Bykov's election, the Imperial Navy of Belhavia has ordered the class of vessel to be operated as helicopter carrier. The Belhavians have three carriers as of July 2014, with another under construction. That is expected to be followed by a further two more. They have received the designation Swift-class by the Imperial Navy. Provisa was offered the option of purchasing Yukimov Yuk-31s as part of the carrier package but declined to do so.
Design
The designers had originally envisaged only a low cost single multirole 50,000-60,000 tons conventionally powered carrier suitable for replacing the ageing Grokantyia light carrier which was not large enough to operate the newer larger Ay-04 fighters then underdevelopment. However after the first vessel had been rushed into service in 1978 without full capability until the new socialist government had taken power by 1980, the development of the new Democratic Socialist Republic of Anikatia saw a almost full redesign and change in role and doctrine of the new vessel numerous changes and improvement were implemented. It is thought up to ten more of the updated vessels were constructed. They formed the bulk of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Anikatia's ocean going force projection until the larger Albyecl class carrier were built.
Evolution
The Motykov and second of her class Peytia were fitted with a steam turbine system which generated 130,000 kW (174,334 hp). However following the new governments review of the vessel. Numerous changes were implemented and led to the new Akyania subclass, these featured an updated and increased armaments, improved and more powerful steam turbines generated 134,000 kW (179,697 hp) which allowed the vessel to reach flank speeds of 31 knots (57 km/h). While the designs of the final seven ships (beginning with ANV Bakuyra) are slightly different from those of the earlier ships, the Anikatian Navy considers all the carriers as a single class. These later vessels of the Bakuyra subclass feature noteworthy technological advances. Changes from the previous Motykov design include: CODOG propulsion, all-electric auxiliaries, an advanced machinery control system including throttle control from the bridge, water mist fire protection systems. It is suspected that at least one vessel may have been outfitted with a nuclear reactor for trials to provide data that would feed into the development of the full size nuclear Albyecl class aircraft carriers then underdevelopment. During refits and modernisation earlier vessels were brought up to the armament standards of the Bakuyra subclass. Leaked reports indicate the navy has plans for future modernisation of the the carriers would see a removal of the SV-070M Gyrnta anti-ship missiles, to provide greater hanger and fuel storage space along with update of the SQ-034MK Toryu-K SAM system and SQ-130M2 30mm CIWS.
Air Wing
Operating as the main stray of the naval aircraft projection power it has operated a large number of aircraft in its service life, the main tactical aircrafts flown by the Motykov carriers were Ay-04 variable sweep wing fighter-bombers, Ay-05 multirole fighters, most recently the F-29 Warriors and Ay-105 stealth fighters. The F-29s mark the first foreign aircraft operated on board the Motykov class within Anikatian service. MyL-23 heavy multirole interceptors initially thought to heavy to operate from the carrier have achieve success in testing. Helicopters, VTOL and auxiliary aircraft operated on the Motykov consist of Tsk-14 multirole medium helicopters, Tsk-18 VTOL for logistics; transports and IV-62EW is used for airborne early warning.

Exports
While this type was exported during the period of the DSRA, since its collapse in 2001 and the creation of Anikatian International Trade and Export Corporation (ANKITEC), it has once again been an export product. It has been successfully marketed both internationally and within Pardes, for example, following improving relations, it has entered service with New Belhavia, a former adversary during the Communist period of Anikatia.
Valinor
Following the end of it's period of isolation, the Royal Valinese Navy ordered two Motykov class vessels, these were given the names VRS Triton and VRS Therlox. The Triton will replace the VRS Valletta, the final escort aircraft carrier (hull classification symbol CVE), in carrier battle group (CVBG) 5, and then Therlox will be apart of the newly formed carrier battle group (CVBG) 8. These were ordered as part of a larger military deal with Anikatia which included Aymovski Ay-05, and Ivanenko Iv-62 aircraft.
Estovakiva
During the 1988 the DSRA signed a deal with the Estovakiva for the construction of up to three vessels for the Estovakivan Naval Forces; these were some of the last warships to be built within the DSRA prior to it's collaspe, the deal led to increased military and economic cooperation between the two already close nations. Since the collapse of the DSRA, the new Anikatian republic has continued to offer significant support in maintaining and operating these vessels. In 2010 the new state export firm ANKITEC helped refurbish these vessel which including the sale of advanced Ay-05NG fighter aircraft.
Belhavia
In 2010, following Niklas Bykov's election, Belhavia invited ANKITEC to take part in a competition to supply the Imperial Navy with a new generation helicopter carrier. ANKITEC was successful, although initial proposals included the option of purchasing Yukimov Yuk-31s at low cost to maintain a fixed wing element to the carriers, but the Belhavians declined to do so. They have received the designation Swift-class by the Imperial Navy and the Belhavians now operate three carriers as of July 2014, with another under construction. That is expected to be followed by a further two more.
The Nihilistic View
In 2007 as part of a landmark defence deal that led to extensive negotiations and partnership in the Experimental Fighter Program (EFP) a deal for 18 Motykov class vessels was signed with Anikatia through the state export firm ANKITEC, this also involved a full complement of carrier based aircraft. This marked a considerable increase in military and economic cooperation between the two sovereign nations, in order fulfill this large order an agreement was reached with local firms in The Nihilistic View utilising ANKITEC's International Production Cooperation Agreement (IPCA) this allowed 8 vessels to be constructed outside of Anikatia, which has also helped prepared the local workforce within The Nihilistic View in being able to support and maintaining all vessels. This deal makes The Nihilistic View one of the largest operators of the Motykov class outside of the Pardes region.
