O Rwizikuru, land of glory is the national anthem of Rwizikuru, used from 1946 to 1957, and since 1964. The lyrics were written by Zvionere Marachera and Alistair Perry in the transition period between Estmerish rule over Riziland to an independent Rwizikuru, while the melody was composed by Horatio Edmiston around 1920.

First adopted in 1946 upon Rwizikuru's independence by Estmere, O Rwizikuru, land of glory was used until 1957, when it was replaced by Lève-toi, ô Baïen!, as a sign of Vudzijena Nhema's committment to Pan-Bahianism. It was in turn re-adopted after the 1964 coup d'etat that saw the National Salvation Council take power over Rwizikuru, and has remained as the anthem of Rwizikuru since then, despite the institution of the Rwizikuran monarchy in 1968.

Lyrics

Rwizi Gaullican Estmerish
First verse

Rwizikuru, nyika yekubwinya
Nyika yako ticharamba tichidzivirira
Tichamukira kuchamhembe
Hatizombofi takavimba zvakare!

Rouizicourou, terre de gloire
Votre terre que nous défendrons toujours
Nous nous lèverons contre le nord
Plus jamais nous ne dépendrons!

O Rwizikuru, land of glory
Thy land we shalt forever defend
We shall stand up against the north
Never again shall we depend!

Second verse

Rudzi rwedu ruchamuka
Pamberi kusvika mangwana
Isu tinorangarira vatakarasa
Asi hatina kubatwa nekusuwa.

Notre nation se lèvera
Et avancer vers demain
Nous nous souvenons de ceux qui nous avons perdus
Nous ne sommes pas piégés dans le chagrin.

Our nation shall rise upwards
And advance towards tomorrow
We remember those we have lost
Yet we are not trapped in sorrow.

Third verse

Pamberi, kumberi!
Mira wakasimba kurwisa vavengi vedu!
Pamberi, kumberi!
Kukunda pamusoro pedu dzese nhamo!

Nous avancerons, nous avancerons!
Et tiendrons bon contre nos ennemis!
Nous avancerons, nous avancerons!
Et triomphe de tous nos malheurs!

We shall advance, we shall advance
And stand strong against our foes!
We shall advance, we shall advance!
And triumph o'er all of our woes!
