Revision as of 22:20, 7 June 2022
The 1st season of Operation : Worldvision would commence after the 100th edition of the Worldvision Song Contest was held. The competition will decide the next five Alezian entries in the Worldvision Song Contest from the 101st edition to the 105th edition until a new contract was decided whether to keep the competition or to change into another format decided by observing the five Alezian entries' performance in the Worldvision Song Contest.
Background
The Alezian Union has participated in every edition of the Worldvision Song Contest after its reunification. The nation debuted in the 90th edition held in Avon, Elejamie to a respectable 10th place. After that, the nation would receive top 10 results every edition until it's victory with Aziz-Lutfi Garanov ft. Time Killers with the song "I've Faith in You" in Nekoni on the 94th edition of the competition.
However, after the victory, the Alezian Union has failed to enter the top 10 like it used to, even breaking North Alezia's previous worst result of 17th place, this time earning back-to-back 18 places on the last two editions of the competition.
The poor results for the country caused controversy among the online community of Alezian Worldvision fans and non-fans alike. Debates revolves around Alezia's poor music selection, poor internal selections, the flaws behind the cycle rule, ABA's "lost interest" over the contest, and various other issues. Some members of the community even suggesting for the country to withdraw from the contest until Alezia can figure out its' direction back.
Due to this, the Alezian Broadcasting Authority Board decided to give freedom to all four of the Regional Broadcasters to select their entries, then competing against each other in a series of episodes where the winner of that episode would represent the Alezian Union at the Worldvision Song Contest for the next five editions.
The concept was approved by 87% of the Alezian Online community through an online poll hosted by the Alezian Broadcasting Authority's official Arico.net account. The base format for the show and song submissions opening was announced in the "Worldvision Alezia" show on 26th of April 2022 on ABA Channel 3, while the details was more elaborated on the same show on 5th of May 2022 with the regional preselection episodes starting from 8th of May to 17th of May
Format
Each region are to hold a separate preselection for their own region and select their five best songs and performers to represent their region in the national preselection. Voting methods in these regional preselections varies per region depending on the regional broadcaster's choices, where ABA gave the broadcasters freedom to select their own methods as long as the voting remained public and was seen by the audience.
After the five representatives were chosen, ABA will put their names on a random draw to decide each of the representative's slot to compete. In this draw, each regions are going to only be represented once. In a situation where a name must be disqualified, the regional broadcaster must immediately bring the sixth-placed (or below if refused) performer to take the spot.
After the draw was made, each performer performs in that episode. And after a voting procedure using the normal Worldvision style a.k.a using 7,8,10, and 12 points (12 points automatically went to the voting region if it's not a country voting.) after calling all regions and invitee nations, the winner of that episode which is decided by whoever earned the most points would represent the Alezian Union in the next Worldvision Song Contest.
The first region to be announced on the 5th of May reveal is South Alezia. ABA Doorsbreeken announced that it would select its representatives through the 2022 reboot of a popular South Alezian talkshow "Aku Suka, Kamu Suka" (I Like, You Like) which was initially broadcasted in Televisie Alezie-Zuiden from 1978 to 1990. The preselection would be held in a single episode of the show.
The second region to be announced on the reveal is Pantabang Islands. ABA Bucinnois announced that it would select its representatives through the 2022 edition of the Ellioranne Music Festival which has been held every year since 1966. Initially, Ellioranne was used to select the two Pantabang Islander entries to the annual AleziRadio Festival of Songs. But since the festival separated the Pantabang Islands' entries to six sub-regions, Ellioranne was initially left without purpose until the festival was selected as the region's preselection for Operation:Worldvision.
The third region to be announced on the reveal is Mosin-Nagan. ABA Trishi announced that it would select its representatives to the five episodes of the competition through the Sing! singing show. This is the only show that is specifically made for Operation : Worldvision as the broadcaster cannot find any other show to use. Initially, ABA Trishi was to use the same method as the Pantabang Islands by using the Mosin-Naganese preselection for the AleziRadio Festival of Songs, "A Song for Mosin-Nagan".
The final region to be announced on the reveal is North Alezia. ABA Zafizamarrah announced that it would select its representatives to the competition through the The Carlisle Song-Show, which is a talkshow hosted by Michael Carlisle talking about music and is usually broadcasted midnight. The show has been running since 2003. For the preselection for Operation:Worldvision, The show would hold a single episode and select the representatives from there.
Preselection (South Alezia)
The South Alezian entries were selected on 8th of May 2022 using the Aku Suka, Kamu Suka talkshow reboot hosted by Danu Dari and Herzog Loegenhaveld. Hosted in Studio 6 of ABA Doorsbreeken, the preselection was held in episode 15 of the reboot titled "Siapa Suka Menolak Mengalah di Worldvision?" (Who likes refusing to admit defeat in Worldvision?). The episode includes 10 artists and songs with a voting calling ten juries from different cities in South Alezia.
