Charles Wright was appointed a Lord of Parliament on 15 February, 2022, the 17th Session of Parliament. Initially, Charles Wright ran for a seat in the House of Commons but due restrictions set out in the Elections Act 2021 regarding the minimum amount of citizenship he was unable to run for a seat in the Commons. Consecutively, The Lady Speaker The Duchess of Rothesay appointed Charles Wright as Deputy Senior Speaker of the House of Lords on 16 February 2022. Charles Wright proposed seven Standard Acts during this first term in the Parliament of the Empire of Great Britain and one amendment to the Standing Orders of the House of Lords.

The first legislative proposal that Charles had written and proposed was the Household Division Act 2022 on February 18, 2022. The Household Division Act 2022 was An Act to establish a roleplay oriented ceremonial military division. It established the Household Division and the Coldstream Guards Regiment. It was passed by the House of Lords on 20 February, 2020. It was then sent to the House of Commons were it was amended and passed unanimously to be passed once more by the House of Lords on the 22nd of February, 2022. The Household Division Act 2022 received Royal Assent on February 23, 2022, by His Majesty King William V.
