The Royal Police of Uppsund (RPU) is a section within the Federal Police Services of Ahrana that is responsible for policing inside the Borders of the Kingdom of Uppsund. The Royal Police has its own Deputy Commissioner of the entire Police Force that is under the Federal Police Commissioner.

Tasks and Objectives

The RPU is tasked to police, enforce federal and regional laws within the borders of the Kingdom of Uppsund and the exterior borders of the United Kingdom of Ahrana. The Constitution provides the same provisions to all Police Section of the FPS, these Provisions and Acts state that the police should prevent crime, monitor public order and safety, carry out criminal investigations, provide protection, information and other assistance to the public, along with other responsibilities as prescribed under special provisions. This is supplemented with the annual "appropriation directions" issued by the Government, which specify the agency's main tasks and goals for the year. The Royal Police also carries out a number of administrative functions, such as the issuing of passports, national identity cards and various kinds of permits and licenses for the area of the Kingdom of Uppsund. A permit is for example required when arranging a protest march or holding a public event, such as a concert. Permits are also required for using public space to sell goods, serve food or beverages. Individuals also have the right to request extracts from their criminal records, which is asked for by a growing number of prospective employers and is required by law prior to employment at schools or daycare centers.

Organization

The Royal Police of Uppsund is headed by the Chief Constable who reports to the Regional Federal Police Commissioner. The Royal Police of Uppsund is a division of the Federal Police Services that operates within the Stat of Uppsund. Currently, the Stat of Uppsund has seven Rayons that the Police is responsible for policing in junction to the other duties that fall to the Police.

Chief Constable

The Chief Constable is appointed by the Stat Executive Council and confirmed by the Stat Parliament who serves at the pleasure of the Stat Government. The Chief Constable must be a member of the Royal Police and has served with distinction for over a minimum of five years. As the head of the Royal Police the Chief Constable ensures the Police Service is operating at its highest ability, fully staff, and ensures that the laws are enforced and followed by the Constabulary Officers themselves.

Deputy Chief Constable

The Deputy Chief Constable is appointed in each Kunta to head each main Office Headquarters within that Kunta. This office is filled by the Chief Constable with whom they believe and is picked from a list of candidates for promotion.
