The Midwest Separation Union (or Midwest Union), established 1979, is a Federation comprised predominantly the former Midwest region of the United States.

Etymology

The "Midwest" header of the name refers back to the Midwest region of the United States

Midwest-Soviet Relations

As early as Midwest independence movements began, the Soviet Union expressed interest and support to the groups, and began aid in July of 1979.

In 1981 the USSR began supplying the nation with specially designed AKSZs intended to fit in to common ammunition.
