Nikita Baranov was a Gasarian statesman who served as the 2nd president of Gasaria from 1978 to 1983 for a single term. Succeeding Vanya Semenov, Baranov led Gasaria through the final stages of the Federate-Gasarian war, leading to the Eastern Accord which ended the conflict and achieved what was widely percieved as a defensive victory. Baranov did not run in the 1983 Gasarian presidential election, instead endorsing Arseny Solovyov who lost against Masha Savicheva.
