The Lappland Home Guard is the ground force of the Lappland Home Defense Force. The Home Guard is the largest branch of the Lappland Defense Force and includes the Military Police.
History
The Lappland Home Guard was the first branch of the Home Defense Force established in 1891 under the Office of Defense. The Home Guard was the only branch until the establishment of the Lappland Coast Guard in 1901.
