The Republican Parliamentary Party is a social democratic and a Itsch republican political party in Itsch.

History

The RPP was founded in 1817 by Mennonite-ministers as a centrist-pacifist political party.

Unua RPP

The Unua RPP was a period of time in the RPP during the First Republic of Itsch. Unua RPP was a centrist-pacifist political party with strong connections to the Mennonite Church in Itsch. The RPP was one of the two major parties in the First Republic of Itsch with the opposing Liberal Party. During the United Empire occupation of Itsch the RPP was banned from 1880 to 1892. In those years the RPP shifted dramatically from the centre to the far left.

Dua RPP

The Dua RPP was a period of time in the RPP during the Second Republic of Itsch. In the 1890s the RPP shifted from the far left to centre-left. The Dua RPP had a majority in the Kunveno from 1892 until 1960.

Ideology

The RPP supports classical social democratic policies. To that rule, the SP stands for a government offering strong public services. The SP is against far-reaching economic liberalism, in favor of social progressivism, environmental policy with climate change mitigation, for an open foreign policy, and a national security policy based on pacifism and anti-imperialism.

The RPP also stands for a less strict neutrality of Itsch, and supports increased international efforts on the part of Itsch in the areas of peace and human rights. However, the RPP supports keeping the military neutrality and opposes entry into NATO. Its pacifist stance is also reflected in its military policy: The RPP supports reducing the number of Itsch militia while making the military apparatus more professional and scrapping conscription.
