Structure of the Emerstarian Army

The following article depicts the structure of the Emerstarian Royal Army of Emerstari. Its headquarters is located in Rensulier, Emerstari, and its commander-in-chief is the Emerstarian king or king-regent. Historically, the Dukes of Whentii have held the office of Lord Marshal.

The command structure is hierarchical with field armies, corps, and divisions controlling groupings of units from an administrative perspective. Major units are brigades, regiments, and battalions with minor units being companies, platoons, and rottes, and pairs. In general, there are two soldiers in a pair, five pairs in a rotte, four rottes in a platoon, three platoons in a company, ten companies in a battalion, two battalions in a regiment, two regiments in a brigade, four brigades in a division, three divisions in a corps, and two or more corps in a field army. Units larger than companies are typically named while companies and units smaller are typically numbered or lettered, save for special significance. All units within the service are reguljar (full-time) or reserv (full-time or part-time).

Royal Army Command

Deitrik Finn Kystmann, Duke of Bergland is the current Lord Marshal of the Royal Emerstarian Army since 2027.

Colonel-general Emerik Jakob Henrikssen was the King's Lieutenant from 2018 until 2026 when he retired.
