The legality of euthanasia in Esquarium varies by country, as euthanasia is legal in some countries, while it is not in other countries, although assisted suicide (a practice in which an individual provides a competent patient with assistance, but where the individual brings about their own death) is.

Legality of Euthanasia by country

  Euthanasia is illegal
Euthanasia is illegal, but assisted suicide is legal (or vice versa)
  Euthanasia varies by administrative divisions
Euthanasia and assisted suicide are legal

Nation Status Details
Ainin Euthanasia and assisted suicide are legal Assisted suicide was legalised in 1998 and euthanasia was legalised in 2010.
Eibenland Euthanasia and assisted suicide are legal Assisted suicide and euthanasia were legalized in 2015.
Katranjiev Euthanasia is illegal, but assisted suicide is legal (or vice versa) In 2008, the National Assembly passed laws legalizing assisted suicide. However, euthanasia is still illegal, primarily due to fear that the person being euthanized may not want to be killed, even if others think that s/he were suffering and that it'd be better for him/her to die. Thus, consent requires either a living will or for the patient to explicitly give permission.
Lecia Euthanasia is illegal Euthanasia and assisted suicide are illegal.
Luziyca Euthanasia is illegal Euthanasia and assisted suicide are illegal nationwide. In 1996, in Mirak v. Luziyca, the Supreme Court struck down Mirak legalizing assisted suicide (doing so in 1993 and had twenty-two assisted suicides from 1993-1996) due to the law violating Article 1, section 1 of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms that states that "Everyone has the god-given right to the ideals life, liberty, democracy, and property." Thus, while the Liberals support its legalization, all the other parties in Congress have opposed the legalization of euthanasia and assisted suicide.
Namor Euthanasia is illegal Euthanasia remains illegal in the People's Republic of Namor, though a caregiver may receive a reduced punishment for taking the life of someone who consents to it, or for, out of compassion, taking the life of a person that can be proven as having been "hopelessly ill." In terms of the legality of euthanasia and assisted suicide, the Conservative parties are in consensus, believing that euthanasia goes against the Namorese value of life. Meanwhile, the Progressive parties remain divided on the issue, with the Socialists and DemSocs supporting the decriminalization of euthanasia, and the Liberationists opposed to it.
Xiaodong Euthanasia is illegal Euthanasia and assisted suicide is illegal by constitutional law. The Xiaodongese government has officially disputed the notion of the concept of euthanasia, saying all forms of death are "fundamentally cruel" and that euthanasia and assisted suicide go against Xiaodong's "peaceful culture".
