Station Aéronavale Keflavik (SANKEF) is a Sieuxerrian Navy and a Sieuxerrian Army jointly operated base. It was constructed in the early 1970s and was officially finished and began operations in July of 1971. It houses a large number of Sieuxerrian military personnel, and is one of the largest foreign military bases of the Sieuxerrian Armed Forces. It is home to the 4th Carrier Strike Group (4e Groupe Aéronaval), the 2nd Destroyer Squadron (2e Flottille de Destroyer), the 5th Destroyer Squadron (5e Flottille de Destroyer), the 6th Destroyer Squadron (6e Flottille de Destroyer), it also has the 33rd Tulese Dragoons Regiment, which is a demi-brigade of the Sieuxerrian Foreign Legion. There also are other ground-based aircraft squadrons for the navy, along with minor auxiliaries and other support units for both army and navy units. In addition to the Sieuxerrian units, the Armed Forces of the Temuair Empire have deployed fighter and strike aircraft to the facility. The Imperial Air Force of Temuair's 191st Tactical Fighter Wing has been detached from is headquarters at Strathbogie Imperial Air Force Base in Huntley since the mid 1990's. In addition, the Imperial Navy of Temuair Naval Aviation Command supplies a variety of aircraft from various commands, including naval bombers, reconnaissance, and electronic warfare aircraft
It hosts other OSEN units on rotational and permanent stationing basis. Unit sizes increase from 5,000 to 10,000 men. The base has additional facilities to house additional warships and army formations.
