The following is a broad timeline of the World War, which lasted from April 12th, 1949 to November 12th, 1954 (5 years, 7 months and 1 week) and involved more than 40 countries from around the World. Minor skirmishes are generally overlooked in this article, with the more major-engagements and events being highlighted.

Preceding Events

1949

  • April 5 - Albarinean shipping vessel ASVA Gillead Sun is sunk by a Drambenburgian U-boat in the Emmiria Sea.

War Begins

  • June 2 - Battle of Eekren; Drambenburg punches a hole in the Avergnonian defensive lines, threatening the capital of Vessalia.
  • June 10 - Zamastan declares war on Drambenburg. Zamastan begins a two-pronged offensive into Aunistria with the aim of surrounding the Drambenburgian forces from the west, north, and south.
  • June 11 - Battle of Aarstal; First major Zamastan-Drambenburg clash of the war.
  • June 14 - Battle of Spreitenneuve; Drambenburg is routed into a strategic retreat.
  • June 29 - Battle of Rosnon; retreating Drambenburgian forces are reinforced and Zamastanian offensive stalls. Each side falls into trench warfare, to which it remains a drawn out stalemate for the majority of the war with little ground gained by either side.
  • July 1 - Battle of Romrode; Zamastanian forces attempt to push through Drambenburgian defense, are pushed back.

1950

  • March 5 - Quetana declares war on Drambenburg, joins Zamastan.


1951

  • August 28 - Ruskayn joins the Allies.
  • October 6 - Battle of New Johr; Jerku revolutionaries, backed by Beleroskov, liberate New Johr from Rumaztrian forces. Rumaztria begins a nearly two year long siege to try and retake the city.

1952

  • April 7 - Operation Pelican Spanning begins; the largest amphibious military operation in history sees the forces of Zamastan, Emmiria, Quetana, Ruskayn, Caspiaa, Rio Palito, and Albarine landing on the northwest stretch of Vulkaria. They begin a long operation to drive the DSC out of Vulkaria.
  • April 13 - Siege of Bredehuizen begins; Ruskaynian forces lay siege to the city of Bredehuizen, Vulkaria. The fighting lasts nearly a month, with over 69,000 Sanguine soldiers killed.
  • May 3 - Battle of Oudschot; Emmirian forces liberate the city of Oudschot, Vulkaria. Over 9,000 Emmirians are killed during the battle, making it the deadliest engagement for the Emmirians during the war.
