Ville de Augusta (Village of Augusta), simply referred to as Augusta is the capital and most populous city of Chenes. The city of Ville de Augusta is located within the Augusta City Department in the State of Augusta. Geographically, Ville de Augusta is located on the southeastern coast of Chenes. The name, Ville de Augusta, comes from the original company of settlers that landed nearby and established the city in their name, the Company of New Augusta. As of the 2020 Census, the population of Ville de Augusta was recorded at 982,495. Despite being a capital city, Ville de Augusta is not governed in any special way, and is governed by the Department Council of Augusta.

Ville de Augusta was originally settled and abandoned various times by several Wαpánahki tribes, including the Amaseconti and Winnibisauga. At the time of the arrival of the settlers, the area had been abandoned due to fighting breaking out between the Wαpánahki Winnibisauga tribe and Tsalagi Telliquo tribe. Ville de Augusta was proclaimed to be the capital city during the Augusta Assembly which founded the Confederation of Chenes. During the War of Androscoggin-Etinne, Ville de Augusta was attacked and looted by the Tsalagi Cayoka tribe and the Tsalagi Chawgee tribe. The damage was subsequently repaired after the end of the war, and saw an influx of creole and Wαpánahki people immigrate into the city.

In 1914, Ville de Augusta hosted the first meeting of the Penobscot Assembly, before moving the Assembly to the town of Penobscot, the heartland of the merged Wαpánahki tribe of Androscoggin-Penobscot.

Ville de Augusta is the seat of the Government of Chenes, alongside the seat of the Government of East Chenes. This include Courthouse of Ministers, Senate Building, General Legislature Building, House of Laws, and the First Courthouse of Chenes. Several historical institutions also exist within the Ville de Augusta, including the First Augusta Mint and the Merchants Hall, where the Augusta Assembly was first convened. Ville de Augusta was originally the financial center of Chenes, but the financial center of Chenes is considered to be Ville de Amiens after the Penobscot Trade Revolution. Ville de Augusta still hosts the Société des Commerçants which was the first printer of Chenique trading schedules. Culturally, Ville de Augusta is the home to the National Library of Chenes and the First National Museum of Chenes.
