Etymology

The name Marzstra comes from the name of the local tribe which was in control of the island when Riamese colonizers came[2]. The tribe itself was named Marizsin (ماريزسين), supposedly after one of the first rulers of the community, which massively improved the living conditions, gave to the poor, and cared for all of her citizens. It is assumed that she came up with the name herself, or that it was given to her by her family as a nickname[3].
