Seo Yi-kyung (born April 9th, 1980) is currently the Director-General for Mystria at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the United Kingdom of Malgrave. In the last few decades, she has been largely credited with developing Malgraves foreign policy strategy and assisting the transition from isolation to growing internationalism.
Early Life and Career
Seo Yi-kyung was born in Aurora on the 9th of April 1980 to Seo Yeong-Suk, a Senior Analyst for the Naval Intelligence Service of the Royal Navy and Park Soo-Jin, a teacher. In her early childhood, Yi-kyung attended Aurora Coastal Division Primary School and Aurora General High School, during this time Yi-kung was an active member of both the Gabriel Narutowicz Pioneers and the Free Democratic Youth (Malgrave) rising to senior positions at both organisations, at this time Yi-kung was also an ardent member of the ASG and became noted for her passion on studying and finding the truth.
In 1994 Yi-kyung moved to Epping and studied Political Science, Social Solidarity and History at Epping Central College two years ahead of schedule, with Yi-kyung once again being noted as a rather focused student, although one that had to be convinced to get involved in events with her fellow students.
After leaving Epping Central College Yi-kyung returned to Aurora and studied Political Science and History at the Aurora Institute of Political Science, during this period Yi-kyung first gained notoriety as a member of the Universities Student Council and the National Union of Students she led a campaign against the government for breaching the 1954 Equality Act by failing to provide adequate facilities for non-human students and employees.
While Yi-kyung was studying in Aurora she made the decision to serve with the Royal Navy instead of the Territorial Defence Force, and so on top of studying at the Aurora Institute for Political Science, Yi-kyung also spent time at the Aurora Naval Academy focusing on the field of naval intelligence and logistics.
Lead Policy Researcher
After leaving the Aurora Institute of Political Science Yi-kyung applied for a position at the newly re-established Ministry of Foreign Affairs, according to sources at the Royal Malgravean Times the acute shortage of qualified individuals and Yi-kyung's experience with international history and political science meant that she was quickly assigned the position of Lead Policy Researcher, a rather senior position at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
As Lead Policy Researcher Yi-kyung started travelling across the Mystria region, with Yi-kyung visiting such places as Silverdale, Kouralia, Dyste and Crystal Spires in order to gain a greater understanding of foreign culture, with Yi-kyung releasing a paper on this subject titled Notes on the Establishment and Strengthening of Diplomatic Relations between the United Kingdom of Malgrave and the Mystrian Populace and assorted Policy Recommendations) or NESDRUKMMPPR for short.
Director General of Mystria
Shortly after the ascension of Nadzieja Brzezicki as Prime Minister, Yi-kyung was promoted to the newly created position of Director General of Mystria, a technocratic position designed to assist the Ministry of Foreign Affairs both formulate long-term foreign policy strategies and enact them.
Since her appointment Yi-kyung has travelled to various Mystrian states to extend partnerships between Malgrave and specific partners, with the RMT reporting at the start of 2020 that senior members of the government were incredibly pleased with their position in the region from a security, economic and cultural standpoint.
Personal Life
Information around Yi-kyung's personal life is quite sparse, however, at public events she has been seen alongside fellow Ministry official Lee Se-jin and a small child.
In 2018 it was hinted that the main character in the series Parenthood was based on Yi-kyung, however, this has been sternly rejected by Yi-kyung and Ascension Productions.
