The history of Vierzland begins with the interactions between the West Veisic peoples and the Deoran Empire in the 2nd century BC. The largest Veisic tribe, the Virsi, from which Vierzland draws its name, were hostile towards Deoran expansion efforts in north-central Patyria and were able to defeat the Deoran army at the Battle of the Greenfold in 12 AD under the leadership of their Chief, Eranbald. The area, known as Cannia to the Deorans, remained unconquered except by the Veisic tribes who settled it. In the 6th century AD, Veisic tribes assisted the Molvic tribal confederations led by Medivold and Padovold (the latter known as Meginfrid in Vierz) in the sack of Deora, which spelled the collapse of the Deoran Empire.

A group of western Veisic tribes known as the Vogatians founded the Vogatian Empire in 492, controlling much of northwest and north-central Patyria until its collapse in 853.
