The Schildhauer class was a series of two aircraft carriers designed and operated by the Englean Kaiserreich from 1962 to 1998. The class was designed as a successor to the previous Sieg class that had been operational since 1946. The first fleet carrier designed by the Kaiserreich after the Second Great War, the Schildhauer class was the most advanced fleet carrier class in service with the Kaiserliche-Marine due to multiple refits and upgrades throughout their career. The class continued to be in service with the Kaiserliche-Marine until they were replaced by the Lüderitz class in the 1980s.
