The Iudex-class cruiser, is a class of cruisers of the Aetian Republic Navy, and like the majority of vessels in Aetian service, is designed and built by the Gavius Fleetyards corporation. The Iudex, meaning Judge in Aetian, forms the backbone of every Aetian fleet. The class is considered a symbol of Aetian military might , and can be found in virtually every ARN battlegroup, and many times serves as the main flagship in smaller destroyer or frigate flotillas. It's one of the smallest Aetian vessels with FTL-capability and as such is optimised for long-range patrols with no or limited escort.
