Special Session (2020)

On February 12, 2020, all leaders in both the Senate and the House called a special session to take place during the ongoing 2019-20 coronavirus pandemic, allowing Senators and Representatives to work remotely from their homes. During the special session, Congress focused primarily on legislation related to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was announced on May 27, 2020, that the special session would end on June 12, 2020, due to declining infection rates across the country. Congress will go back into their regular session on June 15, 2020, and will end on January 8, 2021.
