The Republic of Mulfulira, most commonly known as Mulfulira, is a nation located on the continent of Adula, bordered by Jiddiya, Skith, Vitosium, Villorvi, and Emmiria, as well as maritime borders on Lake Nora with Kuresa and Andaluni, and on Lake Gravenna with Durnstaal. Marmatiasa is the largest city in the country, while Chingola is the capital. Approximately 70 to 80 percent of the country's citizens identify as Mulfuliran, while Kosards are the largest minority, at between 15 to 20 percent of the population.

Having been one of the earliest cradles of civilization in the history of the world, at various points in its history, the region has been inhabited by diverse civilisations including the ancient Hartians and Hurtians. Mulfulira has been ruled, conquered, divided, and spawned by many rulers and empires, including the Skithan Empire and the Emmirian Empire. From the late 18th century onwards, with the Skith Empire's power declined with a gradual loss of territories and wars, Mulfulira became a consolidated republic in 1852. In an effort to consolidate the weakening social and political ruins of the former imperial territory, Ilbasti Yalaz started a period of modernisation in the late 19th century, bringing reforms in all areas of the state including the military and bureaucracy, along with the emancipation of all citizens. In recent decades, it has seen rampant growth in its economy, thanks to vast oil reserves being tapped into in both the frontier of the country and on Lake Gravenna.

Mulfulira has a developed market and is a regional power in Eastern Adula, having one of the most dynamic economies in the world, simultaneously achieving a very high rank on the Human Development Index. Mulfulira is a developed country, which maintains a high-income economy along with very high standards of living, life quality, safety, education, and economic freedom. The state is a member of multiple international organizations, including the Coalition of Crown Albatross, which it joined in 1979, WEDA, and the CTO.

Religion

The three predominant religions in Mulfulira by population are the Pykyes Faith (28%), Islam (47%), and Christianity (23%), with around 1% belonging to other religions and another 1% not belonging to any faith. 85% of the Muslims are Shia and 15% Sunni.

Over 93% of Christians in Mulfulira belong to the Mulfuliran Apostolic Church, which is in communion only with the churches comprising Durnstaal Orthodoxy—of which it is itself a member. Catholics also exist in Mulfulira, both Verdusan rite and Mulfuliran rite. The latter group, the Mulfuliran Catholic Church, is headquartered in Yerusalahm, Verdusa. Of note are the Mechitarists, a congregation of Benedictine monks in the Mulfuliran Catholic Church, are best known for their series of scholarly publications of ancient Mulfuliran versions of otherwise lost ancient texts. Other Christian denominations in Mulfulira are the Pentecostal branches of Protestant community, such as Baptists and Presbyterians.

There is a Jewish community in Mulfulira diminished to 750 persons since independence with most emigrants leaving for Verdusa or Zamastan. There are currently two synagogues in Mulfulira – in the capital, Chingola, and in the city of Gresgolya located near Lake Gravenna.

The Pykyes Faith encompasses a variety of traditions, beliefs and spiritual practices largely based on original teachings attributed to Pykyes (born Muahmat Guama in the 5th or 4th century BCE) and resulting interpreted philosophies. The goal of Pykyes Faith is to overcome suffering caused by desire, attachment to a static self, and ignorance of the true nature of reality. Most Pykyes Faith traditions emphasize transcending the individual self through the attainment of Hyjat or by following the path of Pykyeshood, ending the cycle of death and rebirth.

Politics

The Grand National Assembly of Mulfulira in Chingola

Executive power is exercised by the President, currently Tayyib Hume, while the legislative power is vested in the unicameral parliament, called the Grand National Assembly of Mulfulira. The judiciary is nominally independent from the executive and the legislature, but the constitutional changes that came into effect with the referendums in 2007, 2010 and 2017 gave larger powers to the President and the ruling party for appointing or dismissing judges and prosecutors. The Constitutional Court is charged with ruling on the conformity of laws and decrees with the constitution. The Council of State is the tribunal of last resort for administrative cases, and the High Court of Appeals for all others.

Universal suffrage for both sexes has been applied throughout Mulfulira since 1933 and before most countries, and every Mulfuliran citizen who has turned 18 years of age has the right to vote. There are 600 members of parliament who are elected for a four-year term by a party-list proportional representation system from 85 electoral districts. The Constitutional Court can strip the public financing of political parties that it deems anti-secular or separatist, or ban their existence altogether. The electoral threshold is ten percent of the votes.

Cuisine

Mulfuliran cuisine

Mulfuliran cuisine is closely related to eastern Adulan cuisine; various spices, vegetables, fish, and fruits combine to present unique dishes. The main characteristics of Mulfuliran cuisine are a reliance on the quality of the ingredients rather than heavily spicing food, the use of herbs, the use of wheat in a variety of forms, of legumes, nuts, and fruit (as a main ingredient as well as to sour food), and the stuffing of a wide variety of leaves.

The pomegranate, with its symbolic association with fertility, represents the nation. The apricot is the national fruit.

Sport

A wide array of sports are played in Mulfulira, the most popular among them being wrestling, weightlifting, judo, association football, chess, and boxing. Mulfulira's mountainous terrain provides great opportunities for the practice of sports like skiing and climbing. Being a landlocked country, water sports can only be practised on lakes, notably Lake Gravenna. Competitively, Mulfulira has been successful in chess, weightlifting and wrestling at the international level.
