History

The Ashleigh family is a Munkcestrian family that has a history of allegiance to the Munkcestrian Republic and professional service to the Munkcestrian security services (for example in the Munkcestrian Constabulary or intelligence service) going back to at least Christenbread Ashleigh. The Ashleighs are descended from Saint Chad of Mercia. In 2018, Munkcestrian Constabulary members murdered the grandson of Christenbread Ashleigh (a fact which, along with libel by George Fenwick II, lead to a duel and the Ashleigh-Fenwick feud). It's most famous member is Sultan Ed Ashleigh and he was the most famous even before his engagement to Khadijah Khan due to his friendship with George Fenwick II. Betrothed in December 2020, Ed Ashleigh married Sultana Khadijah Khan in May 3rd 2021 (29 days after her 16th birthday) and became Sultan of Sharifistan. This lead to a rift between Ed Ashleigh and George Fenwick II. In May 2021, Edbert Ashleigh was killed by a driver who was intoxicated with cannabis.
